If a world government were to form, it would likely have a large impact on the long-term future. ![]() This framework began as an attempt to understand how longtermists should evaluate possible world governments. ![]() This post outlines a framework of five characteristics that seem most relevant for longtermists to consider when evaluating the impact of a “global agent” (as defined below) like a world government or a strong global governance institution.
